Course content:

• What is a disability? Including the social and medical models of disability/ neurodiversity, plus helpful and unhelpful terminology.

• What are your legal obligations? Legal frameworks, including discussions on The DisabilityDiscrimination Act and The Equality Act.

• What does it mean to disclose your disability? Including discussions: What can your workplace do to build the ‘circle of trust’ to remove barriers to disclosure?

• What are reasonable adjustments? What should be provided, and how identify what reasonable adjustments are right for you.

• Different types of neurodiversity. And how they might affect a persons work.

• Strengths and traits of neurodiverse thinkers. Including: Benefits of a diverse team.

• Understanding communication differences. For client and staff interactions.

• How can I support my neurodiverse colleagues? Including: Benefits of a culture of openness and inclusivity for all.
